Liberty State Park engagement
We used Studio 1314 (Emily) for our engagement photo shoot. We had done quite a bit of research and looked at several different photographers. Emily's photos really stood out from the rest as they were so artistically done and just beautiful. We elected to go for the longer (4-hour) session and Emily helped us pick a location (Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ). It was perfect. Emily had really done her homework and suggested several areas of the park, which she thought would be great. We started out in the old train station, which provided a unique and interesting background. We then moved to the woods and fields of the park to forget we were only a mile away from New York City. Emily took us to a beautiful spot where there was one tree left with bright red leaves surrounded by trees with leafless branches (our shoot was in November). She and her assistant, Hao, worked with us to get some truly memorable shots (at one point, Hao stood off to the side and threw leaves in the air to get a fun fall scene). She even timed the setting of the sun so that it reflected off the NYC skyline in the background of some of our photos.
Emily made us feel at ease and encouraged us to be ourselves so she could capture the magic of our normal interactions. Her methods really worked - and we are not normally comfortable in front of a camera. All of the photos she gave us (over a hundred) were amazing. Our families and friends have absolutely raved about the shots (we are also huge fans, obviously). Even after the four hours of shooting and hundreds of photos, we decided that we also wanted a few "traditional" portraits to give to our older relatives and put in our local newspapers. Originally we had not asked Emily to do this, but we went back to see if she would be willing to do another 20 minute shoot with us to get a few portraits. Not only did she agree, but also she met us in a location near our apartment. In her words, "I want you to be completely satisfied with your photos". That was above and beyond all reasonable expectations, especially since we had not originally asked her to do any portraits!
All of the photos are perfect and, perhaps more importantly, our experience with Emily (and Hao) was thoroughly enjoyable. She is professional, timely, accommodating and a real pleasure to work with. We have sung her praises to all of our friends and, if the occasion presents itself, we will absolutely hire her again.

What you should also know is that Emily and Lawrence are incredibly pleasant and relaxing to be around. This is key because they will necessarily accompany you everywhere during your wedding day! A walk down memory lane is never complete without pictures to reminisce over and of course someone to tell your stories to. Emily and Lawrence made that a possibility for us. In the years to come, whenever we open that Cardinal Red album we will be able to relive the day when we became one. As you may have heard many times, your wedding will be a blur of emotions. I never realized how quickly the day flew by, and we were Mr. and Mrs. Emily and Lawrence captured every single moment for us to relive though. They captured the excitement and fear in Arnabs eyes when he climbed that horse. The tear rolling down my eyes when I saw Arnab for the first time in that hall full of people. Of course, the weather didn’t cooperate but Emily and Lawrence had my back. During the last two weeks before my wedding I really didn’t have the time to re-plan my whole photo shoot knowing that the weather was looking bad. I trusted them to rework the shoot and they ended up taking pictures that I LOVE by understanding and knowing what I was looking for. Everyone at my wedding loved them and still talk about how awesome and sweet they were. The editing they did was phenomenal and it is important to note they are very technical and software savvy – A huge plus! I really liked working with 1314 Studio and will be coming back to them for pictures in the future even though we live in Florida. We highly recommend them for any event or shoot.
